Cheesy Sourdough Biscuits
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sourdough discard
- 3/4 cup all purpose flour
Steps
- Whisk sourdough discard and egg together
- Mix flour, baking powder, and salt into a separate bowl
- Grate the butter into flour mixture and gently mix
- Add shredded cheese into flour mixture and gently mix
- Add sourdough/egg mix into flour mixture and mix with spatula
- Gently knead for 10 seconds just to mix (wash hands with cold water to avoid sticking to hands)
- Roll out dough onto counter, 1/2 inch thick rectangle
- Pamphlet fold dough (1/3 fold each side) and roll out to 3/4 inch thick rectangle
- Cut 6 even squares and put into freezer while oven preheats
- Bake for 20 minutes and let cool on drying rack
