Ingredients

  • 1 Package of S&B Golden Curry Japanese Curry Mix
  • 4 cups of beef broth (or water and beef bouillon)
  • 1 Rump Roast
  • 3 Potatoes
  • Carrots (baby or regular)
  • 3 Celery Stalks
  • 1 Small Onion
  • 1 Package of Edamame Beans
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • Chopped Parsley
  • 1 Apple (optional)
    • Provides a slight sweetness
  • 4 tablespoons butter (optional)
    • Provides a little fat for the lean meat
  • 1-2 tablespoons Chili Oil (optional)
    • Provides a little spice
  • 1-2 tablespoons Soy Sauce (optional)
    • Provides a little Japanese zing
  • 1 tablespoon Hoisin Sauce (optional)
    • Provides a little Japanese zing
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oyster Sauce (optional)
    • Provides a little Japanese zing

Instructions

  1. Prep Ingredients
    1. Chop Potatoes, Carrots, and Beef into bite size pieces (1-2 inches)
    2. Dice up Celery, Onion, and Garlic
    3. (optional) Shred Apple using a cheese grater
  1. Sear beef chunks in a skillet
  1. Add Beef, Potatoes, Carrots, Celery, Onion, Garlic, and fresh Parsley into Crock Pot
  1. Pour broth into Crock Pot
  1. Season with Salt and Pepper
  1. Add optional ingredients as desired
  1. Turn Crock Pot to HIGH, cook for 2 hours
  1. Turn Crock Pot to LOW, cook until meat meat is fall apart tender (about 5-6 hours)
  1. Add all 5 blocks of curry mix, breaking up blocks for faster dissolving
  1. Add Edamame
  1. Turn Crock Pot to HIGH, to allow curry to mix in for 30 minutes (mixing every 10 minutes
  1. Serve as is or over rice/noodles
